Nalley Tree Festival on Decatur Square Tomorrow

    Decatur Metro | February 10, 2012

I received this note from Justin a few days back…

This Sat., Feb. 11 from noon to 3 p.m. is the second Nalley Tree Festival in Decatur Square. Several environmentally-conscious community organizations have partnered with the goal to plant 10,000 trees in Decatur and DeKalb County in three years. So far, 4,000 trees have been given away and planted since 2011. There will be a live band, children’s activities and information on how to sustain our community for the next generation.

    And this press release…

Nalley Decatur is hosting the second-annual Nalley Tree Festival on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Decatur Square. Nalley will be distributing free tree seedlings during the festival, which will feature a live band, children’s activities and educational literature from local municipal and environmental organizations.

The Nalley Tree Campaign is a year-round initiative led by Nalley BMW, Nalley Infiniti and Nalley Nissan in Decatur, Georgia. The campaign’s goal is to plant 10,000 trees within the City of Decatur and DeKalb County in three years. There have been nearly 4,000 trees given away and planted since the campaign started in 2011.

Decatur’s Newest Festival “The Nalley Tree Festival” This Saturday

    Decatur Metro | February 10, 2011

…we wanted to let you know about the 1st Annual Nalley Tree Festival being held at Decatur Square on Saturday, Feb. 12, from 12 – 3 p.m.

The event is being hosted by Nalley BMW, Nalley Infiniti and Nalley Nissan, as the kick-off to its environmental, year-round Nalley Tree Campaign initiative to plant 10,000 trees in the City of Decatur and DeKalb County. It is a local business/community initiative being led by these three Nalley dealerships at the 1600 block of Church Street in partnership with several green businesses and organizations, including City of Decatur, DeKalb County, Park Pride, Trees Atlanta and Keep DeKalb Beautiful.

The Nalley Tree Festival, welcoming Decatur families and residents, promises to offer attendees music, children’s activities, as well the opportunity to learn more about planting complimentary tree seedlings in recognition of Georgia’s Arbor Day on Feb. 18.

Decatur resident Neil Norton tells us that the seedlings available this weekend are Redbuds and White Oaks; 2 years old about 2-3 feet high.  Norton was also good enough to fill us in on how this newest Decatur festival came to be…
