Yesterday’s storms seem to have done a number on large trees around the city.  Jane sent in the pic above of emergency vehicles responding to trees down across Avery Street late yesterday.

Eric sends in this pic of a tree that fell across Mimosa Drive yesterday, adding “This monster fell last night, taking down the cable, phone and power lines.  We lost power for only 6 hours, which was really impressive given the complete loss of a transformer.  GA Power really came through for us.  No people or property were hurt.”

There’s still a lot of clean up to do after yesterday’s wind nightmare.

My personal experience:

Ponce Heights still has no power and Altmod reports GA Power is saying it won’t be up until 8p Wednesday.  Traffic was so bad this morning I turned around and took the train in.  Wish I had just done that in the first place.
