[New Hit Alert] “Just Before Falling”: Dive Into Benjamin Biolay’s Latest Track

[En écoute] “Juste avant de tomber”, le nouveau tube de Benjamin Biolay

Just ten days after the bossa-inspired “Adieu Paris,” the singer unveils a second preview from his upcoming double album, “Le Disque bleu,” which emerges as an instant symphonic hit.

With the release of his double album on the horizon, Benjamin Biolay continues to share snippets from his forthcoming Disque bleu, set for release this fall. Following the introductory Adieu Paris, a bossa ballad revealed just ten days ago that will open the second volume, recorded across Paris, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires, we now have Juste avant de tomber, the album’s first official single released today.

This song, with its compelling melody and lavish string arrangements, is poised to become another hit, featuring captivating lyrics: “I wrote this just wanting to fall/I didn’t even see my life flash before my eyes”. This second track showcases the album’s more symphonic side, as the artist explained this morning on France Inter: “It’s one of the most allegorical songs on the album. It also touches on a cliché that has always fascinated me, especially after hearing accounts from people who have had near-death experiences and saw their lives flash before them. Juste avant de tomber also alludes to many other images, like just before falling in love.”

Months away from the release of his eleventh album, Benjamin Biolay certainly sets the tone for Disque bleu, drawing inspiration from various ‘blue’ themed works like Étienne Daho’s Bleu comme toi, Chris Isaak’s Blue Hotel, Édith Piaf’s Plus bleu que tes yeux, and the iconic blue note.
