During the colder months, visitors relish the loft-style rooms and cozy dining spots of the remote ski-in and ski-out Chalet Zuegg, located close to the summit of the nearby 6,500-foot Meran mountain. As the seasons turn to spring and autumn, guests can be found e-biking and trekking with alpacas on scenic trails.

The vast array of wines stored in a rustic yet modern wooden cellar, along with the main dining area recommended by Michelin, brings everyone together—from families to friends—for elaborate dining experiences. The area is smartly sectioned off to provide a serene environment for those seeking tranquility.

Chalet Mirabell is a model of modern architecture, constructed predominantly from local timber. The design steps away from traditional decor, opting instead for broad windows and deep eaves that encompass private balconies. The structure is artfully integrated into the slope of the landscape. This contemporary alpine elegance is also reflected at Chalet Zuegg.

Modern architecture blends seamlessly with the alpine landscape through timber design and expansive views.

“In the summer, people have endless travel options,” observes Martin Reiterer, the second-generation proprietor of the resort. “Come winter, choices are fewer. They look for a nearby escape with skiing, and perhaps hiking.”

Chalet Mirabell serves a diverse clientele, from those driving over from Milan or Munich for a weekend getaway to those flying in from as far as the Atlantic or Asia, offering a year-round retreat.

“The goal is to provide a serene and relaxing experience, with views over vast landscapes,” adds Reiterer. “That’s what really attracts our guests.” Chalet Mirabell boasts views of the Sarentino and Oetztal Alps, with the Dolomites just an hour away by car.

The spa maximizes the picturesque alpine scenery and the pastoral farmland that stretches out below the hotel. Positioned under the lawn, the adults-only section features a range of wellness facilities including Finnish and organic herbal panorama saunas, as well as salt, light, and aromatherapy baths, all set against a backdrop of wood and stone. The family area above includes a heated pool that flows from inside to the outdoor setting.

Despite its extensive amenities, Chalet Mirabell’s focus remains on the natural beauty that envelops it. Whether viewed from a private balcony, through a spa’s glass wall, or from the edge of an outdoor pool, the ever-present mountains define the expansive space and are central to the resort’s essence.
