Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Sentenced to More Than 4 Years in Prison for Convictions in Sex Trafficking Trial

Sean “Diddy” Combs Receives Prison Sentence

Sean “Diddy” Combs, a prominent figure in the music industry, has been sentenced to a total of four years and two months in prison on two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

In July, Combs was found guilty of these charges in a high-profile court case, though he was acquitted of more severe allegations including sex trafficking and racketeering. The charges for which he was convicted could have led to a maximum of 20 years behind bars. The federal prosecution recommended a lengthy sentence of 11 years and 3 months, whereas Combs’ defense team argued for a significantly reduced sentence of just 14 months.

Combs was formally charged in September 2024 and faced a seven-week trial that began on May 5. Throughout the trial, several women came forward with testimonies against Combs. His former girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, and others recounted incidents involving sexual assault, violence, and threats of blackmail. They described multi-day events known as “freak offs,” where Combs allegedly coerced women into engaging in sexual activities under the influence of drugs.

Combs, who gained fame in the 1990s as the founder of Bad Boy Records, also ventured into television as the host and producer of MTV’s reality competition show Making the Band, which aired from 2002 to 2009. Last year, an incident came to light involving an anonymous artist who accused Combs of rape during an audition for Making the Band in his teenage years. This accusation is among numerous civil lawsuits Combs is currently facing, in addition to his criminal conviction.
