You are absolutely right – it is between two un-signalized intersections as pointed out by others in earlier discussions.
Don’t forget about the Community Meeting tomorrow evening regarding the safety issues on N. Decatur Rd. 7 PM at the North Decatur Presbyterian Church on Medlock Rd.
There is. Landover falls between a signalized intersection and a T-intersection (Clairmont Circle) with a stop sign, though, so crossing N. Decatur at Landover is legal.
No argument from me. The comedy is that the sign represents an attempt to address a problem by reminding people to not participate in an activity that doesn’t actually occur at that particular spot.
Plus there didn’t used to be a sidewalk on which to do that 50 yards of walking. In fact, there’s a creek or culvert at one point with no room for walking between the side barrier and the road. Or has this all been fixed now?
Ironically the pedestrian struck and killed was not a native english speaker. This sign would not help him or any other non-english speaker/reader at all.

Well, looks like Dekalb County has solved THAT problem!
It’s amazing how many problems a sign can solve.
Why didn’t the Dodd Frank Law put up some signs on Wall Street that said “No Credit Default Swaps”?
Of course, crossing N Decatur at this intersection is not jaywalking.

Isn’t there a traffic light and crosswalk at N. Decatur and Superior?

It may be legal, but wouldn’t it be safer to walk 50 yards to the stoplight and crosswalk? That seems like the smart thing to do to avoid danger.

Ha!
I want to see DeKalb put up other signs of things that don’t exist. Like “No Teleporting” or “No Pegasus Parking”.
