First person to point out that this is not Decatur gets punched in the face…just as soon as I get back from looking for Caesar…

However, feel free to debate the Toco Hills/Toco Hill designation :-)

Silly, J_T. Decaturites have no problem claiming Toco Hills, Lakeside, etc. It’s only the undesirable areas we have disowned.

The Publix sign on North Druid Hills Road does read “Toco Hills Promenade.”

If you can’t trust Publix, who can you trust?

I took note of the sign you’re mentioning the other day, specifically due to discussions here. Feeling satisfied that I’d gotten my answer, I continued on and turned left on Lavista… and then I saw it. Another sign, where you’d turn to go to the Nursery or Kroger… “Toco Hill,” singular. So, apparently even the shopping center named for the area isn’t sure what’s correct.

I grew up on Fama Drive, and there’s only one hill called Toco. Last time I looked the singular form of “hill” was still “hill.” We don’t say Stone Mountains, do we? No we don’t. Only one mountain.

I suppose you are one of those grammatical enforcers of excessive pluralization who also notes that there is only one Virginia Highland. Just because you are right, doesn’t make it right!
Err .. I think I just confused myself.
        ;-)

I just clicked on the post on Craigslist and when it said “deleted by author” I had hoped I’d see this post. Great news!!!
