      The General Muir is outstanding.

I know why! Recently attended a birthday dinner at GM. The food was delicious and well-priced, the service was outstanding, and the drinks were tastey and served in gorgeous glassware. The restaurant is also beautifully decorated.

I liked it so much I went back for breakfast last week.

      Next up: lunch.

Is GM best for breakfast and lunch? We went there for dinner and found the menu to be fairly limited, not like the delis I’m used to in NYC. Since we are a family of widely disparate tastes, we need a robust selection to pick from.

I like the Monday-Friday lunch menu better than the other menus, but I’m rarely able to get over there for lunch.

Weekend Brunch menu is fantastic. Yes, limited menu for dinner.

I go regularly for breakfast and lunch — outstanding. The trout spread is great. So are the bagels.

THAT’s what I wanted to know. The bagels. Do they sell takeout?

            Yes.

Interesting to hear everyone’s responses. I actually prefer dinner. It is true that it is somewhat limited, but it seems to change frequently. I have only been once for lunch. It was tasty, but I found it fairly pricey (+/-$12 for a sandwich, no side). In any case, I absolutely concur with a the previous comment about the service – exceptional!

But there is no bacon. At least not when I’ve been there. How can one have breakfast/brunch without bacon?

Joke, right? Jewish deli with bacon?

I WANT to love them, J_T, but for some reason, I always come away disappointed. Maybe I have a skewed perspective, given my South Florida Jewish roots.

No, I’m fond of Bagel Palace. It’s just not on my regular route.
