Again, Decatur Represents on James Beard Semi-Finalist List

    Decatur Metro | February 20, 2013

As I always say (even in non-applicable situations!), let the AJC Food & More blog do the culling of Atlanta area chefs and restuaranteurs and then just pick out the ones with a Decatur relationship!  Here they are for 2013…

    Outstanding restaurateur:

    • Ford Fry
    • Mike Klank and Eddie Hernandez, Taqueria del Sol

    Best Chef Southeast:

    • Billy Allin, Cakes & Ale

Not really. We’ve got the Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins, John Mayer and Sugarland. I wouldn’t exactly call that rocking.

Do y’all know about the Indigo Girls concert at Friends School of Atlanta next month? Small venue at $40 a ticket, benefit for the school. Gonna be special.

Did not know about that. Will check it out and hopefully be there!

                Here are the details:
The Indigo Girls are playing a benefit concert for The Friends School of Atlanta on Sunday, March 10, at 4pm, on the FSA campus. There are three levels of tickets: $100 for the Front Row ;$60 for the Next 6 Rows; $40 for the Remainder of the Floor and Balcony. Tickets are selling fast! Seating for all ticket levels is first come, first served. Doors will open one hour before showtime. The link for purchasing tickets is: https://friendsschoolatlanta.ticketbud.com/indigo-girls-benefit-concert More information: Contact Nancy Bent at or 404-373-8746 x8135.

I believe there are only $40 tickets left.

Who is Ford Fry? Any relation to French, ‘cuz I would so award a James Beard to that guy?

Oh, google answered me. Don’t know why he was the only name without an associated restaurant named in the article.
