Spaces Still Remain for Ladies Rock Camp

    Decatur Metro | January 18, 2013

Stacey sends along this press release…

Registration is now open for Ladies Rock Camp, metro-Atlanta’s only adult rock camp experience just for ladies. Hosted by Girls Rock Camp ATL, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls and women through music education, Ladies Rock Camp is the ultimate three-day rock and roll fantasy for women. Participants learn how to play an instrument, form a band, write and rehearse an original song, and perform in a live public rock concert…all in just three days, and for a great cause. All Ladies Rock Camp proceeds benefit Girls Rock Camp ATL and supports the organization’s efforts to bring music education, self-esteem programming, and team building experience to girls and women of all backgrounds and abilities.

No previous musical experience is needed to attend Ladies Rock Camp, in fact, volunteer musicians will instruct participants in their choice of drums, guitar, electric bass, or keyboards and mentor the ladies’ newly formed rock bands in their songwriting and rehearsal sessions. Girls Rock Camp co-founder and Executive Director, Stacey Singer, says, “we’ve made it easier than ever for ladies to treat themselves to an amazing weekend filled with music, fun, friends, and great food! People walk, bike, and dance for good causes…why not rock for one?” And this year Ladies Rock Camp campers can have friends sponsor their participation through CrowdRise, a secure and reliable online fundraising service that makes donating simple and quick.

Ladies Rock Camp takes place February 15-17 at Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School in Ormewood Park, with the final camper showcase on Sunday, February 17 at 6:30pm at Kavarna in the Oakhurst community in Decatur.  For more information on how you can participate as a camper or volunteer please visit www.girlsrockcampatl.org or call .

Hey let’s go all over the world,
Rock and roll girls, rock and roll girls.

      Yeah, yeah, yeah!
