From David Milliron’s Avondale Estate’s “City Happenings” Facebook page…

Congratulations! The Senate just voted on and passed the Avondale Estates and Decatur annexation bills that will permit the two cities to join borders at Sams Crossing. This legislation brings 23 commercial properties into the City of Avondale Estates and 10 into the City of Decatur. The twin bills now head to the Governor for his signature. The vote tally: Yea (45), Nay (3). THANK YOU!

Spurred by a tweet by Blissful Glutton, Michael noticed that Victory Sandwich Bar has a “coming soon” address on its contact page of 340 Church Street.  The rumor has been floating around for at least a couple months, but this is the first “official” confirmation that I have seen regarding the future of the old Karma Boutique/Johnny’s Pizza (aka Rocket 88) space.   The rumor has long been that Victory was taking over the entire building.

Victory’s flagship location is located in Inman Park.

The 7^th annual Georgia Rides To The Capitol bicycle ride is tomorrow, Tuesday, March 27^th. The Decatur part leaves from the East Lake MARTA station at 10:45 a.m. Mayor Floyd will be leading the ride and we have over 35 mayors and elected officials joining us.  There are over 25 Decatur school students and parents joining in as well.
