Dog Found In Traffic at Memorial & Midway

Decatur Metro | December 23, 2011

Sandi writes in…

A friend recommended that I contact you about this sweet dog that I found yesterday. She was on the corner of Memorial and Midway across from Walmart, ducking in and out of traffic…yikes! She is a total sweetie, is great on a leash, great with cats and dogs, sits, stays and comes on command, and must be someone’s beloved pet. She has a collar but no tags. Her nails are trimmed and she is not underfed. Plus she was very, very scared until we brought her home and then she totally relaxed in the house. For all of these reasons, I am convinced that someone is missing her.

I am bringing her to the vet this afternoon to see if she is microchipped. Hopefully that will get us somewhere, but in the meantime I am searching for her owner through many channels. If there is anything you can do to help me get this girl home, that would be great!

She is a small terrier mix, mostly black with light brown legs and belly, and heart-shaped markings on her face.
