    Lights, Camera, FINALLY Renovation?!

    Decatur Metro | December 12, 2011

The long vacant bank-annex building at the northwest intersection of Ponce de Leon and Clairemont Ave is showing signs of life after many, many years of laying dormant.  Runswithdogs mentioned that the lease sign was down and there was activity inside in FFAF last Friday and I followed up last night with this lovely pic of the interior all aglow.

I could – and will – ask the city what’s going on, but they usually have to be pretty tight-lipped on this sort of thing.  So I’m opening it up to all of you.  Anyone know?

I have thought about re-locating my office there many times, but according to my broker, they were charging unusually high rent and there was no parking, so I stayed away. I would venture to say that the new tenant will not be retail or walk-in customer oriented, since there is no parking. Hopefully, they got a better deal on rent than when I looked.

How could there be no parking? There is an entire parking garage dedicated for that building complex.

Emory Clinic administrative offices which currently occupies the adjacent office building will be expanding into the space. The property is privately owned and Emory Clinic is a tenant so the property continues to generate property tax revenue.

You mean somewhere for Roadrunner to shop before going after the coyotes?

I mean somewhere for the coyotes to shop before going after the roadrunners.

But, that is the Acme I was referring to!

The construction plans tucked into the door say Prime Bank.
      Oh-so-boring.

Too bad it won’t be something really cool. It looks like it could be a cool space!

      Melton’s! :D

I vote for a gun store. It would be closer to acquire ammo then running down to Candler Road Pawn. And Melton’s :) Missing the Buffalo tenders, Reuben and awesome waffle fries!

Melton’s AND a gun store. That should take care of the rats once and for all.

          And the coyotes.

Wait, so which is it? Emory Clinic administrative office expansion or Prime Bank? Boring either way, but would be nice to have some confirmation (and nice to simply have it occupied and a living part of the cityscape again).

It is definitely Emory administration. I have a friend whose office is moving there
