Report: More Pizza Coming To Emory Village
Decatur Metro | October 10, 2011
Tomorrow’s News Today reports that Romeo’s New York Pizza will share the old Druid Hills Bookstore space in Emory Village with Chipolte.
According to their John’s Creek location website…
Romeo’s pizza in John’s Creek is not one of those pizza joints who lures you in by claiming to have authentic NY pizza and then you quickly find out it’s not even in the same ballpark. Romeo’s has been making authentic NY pizza since 1945. Born and raised in Paterson, NJ
No soggy crusted pizza or watered down pizza sauce. Everything we do is fresh and completely from scratch. Romeo’s uses the finest cheese and makes all there dough in house.

Their ‘there’ where there ought to be a ‘their’ makes me wonder what they’re thinking.
Wonder what their niche is and how they’re going to compete with Everybody’s. I gotta admit, I love Everybody’s, especially their lunch special.
As a native New Yorker, I must say that IF it is like good NY pizza (which can not be judged by that place that changed names on Church St.), it’ll beat anything around.
Sadly, most places that claim “real NY pizza” fail miserably. Oddly enough, it has to do in part with the water. NYC has some of the cleanest tap water of any US city. Go figyuh.
Unfortunately, given the number of people around here who love Mellow Mushroom and Everybody’s, if it’s REAL New York pizza, it’ll probably fail miserably
With the proliferation of fancy Neopolitan places around town, I’ve actually found myself dreaming about a good, foldable, roof of the mouth burning, plain old cheese slice. When I hit the lottery I plan to literally transport Scotto’s Pizza from East Windsor, NJ to Decatur, GA, brick by damn brick if need be!
