Could I get a ticket for cutting through the Dairy Queen parking lot to avoid the line of cars waiting to cross the tracks at the end of Trinity? I literally do that every morning. I learned the shortcut by watching a police car take it.
I’d guess that the Dekalb deputy was coming to get food or pulling out of the county parking lot across the street and saw it, can’t imagine that he would have been dispatched to CoD for anything like this.
Also, I wonder if they drove over it or tried to get out of the drive thru line and backed up.
D’OH!
“Ya’ll can’t get there from here”
I remember this took place earlier this year/end of last year with a women driving a convertible.
Would you like waffle fries with that ticket?
Right. Or an order of our new Muffle(r)-Fries.
Mooove over.
Yep, happened last December. A woman drove her beautiful, blue Porsche right up on there.
If Chick-fil-a stayed open a few hours later, I bet you could catch a lot of drunk drivers that way!
Could the police really issue a ticket on private property? I would think not for a moving violation, since it’s not a public street. Just wondering …
I’ve known people who got a ticket on private property when they were cutting through it to avoid a traffic light.

I see what you did there. With the name.
Yep. I use the shorter moniker on my iPhone because I didn’t have the patience to thumb type RevNeg. But, yes. They’re both me.
Yes, you could be ticketed for that at the officer’s discretion.
So you’d only get a ticket for doing that on a bike…
Can a Sheriff write a ticket?
Sheriff Deputies are certified law enforcement officers and can write a ticket or arrest for any violation.
See now, a bicycle would never have that problem (surprised it took a dozen comments to go there).
So is that like Godwin’s Law for DM?
After having looked up Godwins law, I can say yes. At least until people find something else less interesting to argue about.
