Adair Park, Decatur GA (I’ve received a pic of this sign three times since Friday, so though this one’s Scott’s, we also must tip our hat to Joe and Andy)
Possibly along upper walkway near the brick wall. Seen a few bags there. That said – Owners could turn round and drop at the trash cans. And they could also go to the city commission meetings. I’d bet they get results.
Nothing aggravates me more than finding bags of dog poop in the bottom of the garbage can after it’s been emptied. Especially if it rains before I discover it. I’d almost rather they just let the dog poop on the lawn.
As incredible as it sounds, yes, they do. Those blue bags show up in the yard, in my (empty or full, doesn’t matter to them) trash cans (kept around the back of the house!), in recycling bags, you name it. Just about anywhere that is convenient for whoever the lazy dogwalkers are.
This sign/tree faces Adair Street, near the path to walk over the open field to the dog park. When we walked by it on Sunday night, there were indeed two poop bags at its base.
While there are poop cans at entrances of the dog park, I’ve wondered myself if it wouldn’t be nice to have a bin on Adair, for those not going down to the doggie park. It seems like there used to be one along the street at the people park side several years ago- were there complaints from parents of kids playing in the park?
First off, my poop bags are either pink or green. Second, I would never leave these bags where they become the problem of someone else. That said, the troublemaker in me would have a hard time NOT leaving one sitting under a sign like that.
What’s wrong with taking the bagged poop back home and putting it in one’s own garbage, if there isn’t a legitimate receptacle along the way? That’s what we paragons of civic virtue do! >;-)
Anyone know why the City of Decatur buys and dispenses doggie waste bags that are biodegradable? Does the City actually sort the trash and collect these for a manure processing facility? (I know – set up, set up….)
Where in the park is this? Aren’t trashcans w/ doggie bags at each entrance to the adair dog park?
Or am I getting old?

this just seems like laziness to me.
Agreed. C’mon fellow dog owners. You can carry the bags to the garbage can. Also I’m going to find that tree so I can see its feet.
I wish dog owners would stop leaving their bags of poop in my YARD!
People really do that? They go to the effort to scoop and then randomly deposit the filled bag in a clearly innappropriate place?
the worst is when they drop it on top of the recycling (?) or in my trash can AFTER the bag has already been picked up…

Can’t someone invent a dog that doesn’t poop? It would make life a ton easier.
Perhaps even a sh*t-ton.
LOL
