Dogs Find Homes
Decatur Metro | December 30, 2010

A little more than a week ago, we put up a post from a MAK resident seeking homes for two pure-bred boxers found down south of Hartsfield-Jackson airport who were currently residing at Edgewood Animal Clinic.
Shortly after the post went up, we received word that the dog on the right had been adopted, but the girl on the left still needed a home. DM reader JEM let us know that she was interested and wanted to meet the brindle boxer. Then last night we received a follow-up from JEM…
I adopted Mattie, the brindle boxer female. She and my golden Riley are already great buddies. She is an absolutely wonderful dog. …She is now blistfully sleeping on the floor beside my chair. No more cold streets for Mattie.
So I’m very happy to report that both dogs have found homes!

HOORAY! Thanks, JEM!!!!!
This is indeed a heartwarming- & tail wagging!- holiday tale! Wonderful, wonderful news!
This just darn near made me cry. *huge lump in throat* Bless you, JEM, and thanks for the FU, DM!! Happy New Year, indeed.
happy story, indeed! yeah to agape for showing everyone the beautiful pups, dm for posting and for those who did the adopting
Many thanks to everyone, especially JEM, for taking this little girl in. My wife (Agape) has been beside herself, and couldn’t be any happier about the outcome.
Glad I recommended decaturmetro as THE way to get the local word out as well :).
JEM, so happy little Mattie is fitting right in. I knew she would make someones home complete and I’m thrilled to know it was yours. Hope to see you and your babes wandering the Decatur streets some day soon! Much love and thanks to you for your wonderful big heart! Happy New Year!
Thank you, Agape. Mattie continues to be a wonderful addition to our family. Since we live in Forrest Hills, we do most of our walking in Avondale and Forrest Hills. But, we do go to the dog park by St. Thomas Moore on a fairly regular basis. So, look for us there.
What wonderful news! I, too, hope to see the boxers out and about in Decatur.
Fantastic!
