Many Humans Meet Inside Decatur Diner

    Decatur Metro | December 30, 2010 | 10:52 am

RsMcGr wrote on Twitter yesterday evening…

Did I just see waiters /waitresses sitting in booths @ the #DecaturGA Diner? Think they had blue shirts/white letters said “Decatur Diner.”

Marlatiara followed up with confirmation of many people in the Diner…

My husband just called and confirmed what @RSMcGr said – staff meeting at #DecaturGA diner! “About 30 people in there!”

Does this mean anything?  Who knows!

If anyone is able to sit down and order something, let us know.

Maybe it was: A.) The company Christmas Party B.)
Announcement of layoffs to staff C.) A flash mob simulating a diner
        crowd

Negative points for the dirty green awning remaining in
      place.

Those Decatur Diner staff shirts are going to be great collectors items when that place closes.

Great to see that humor is alive & well in Decatur!! I am torn as to whether I want to support this place after all that has gone on to get it possibly open

After all that it’s been through, I don’t see how I can’t support it!

According to info posted on this site, the majority of the hold-up had nothing to do with the diner. In fact, it had to do with public works issues relating to the property. IMO, that’s not their fault.

As a faithful DM reader who nevertheless has somehow neglected the blow by blow on the Decatur Diner, forgive me for asking: What on earth is the hold up? What is this “public works issue” that somehow Atlanta Bread Company managed to skirt for years but takes endless months now to remedy?

Shoddy reporting, DM. Shoddy reporting. Did anyone confirm they were human? Have you heard of holograms? Hello! Holograms? Mannequins, maybe?

This will be the last time I comment on the diner until they open on July 4th in time for the fireworks.
I’m glad to see they are now test fitting the staff in the restaurant, but does it really take 30 people to bring coffee to the table?

Does it take 30 people to bring coffee to the table? The answer is: Attrition. By the time this place opens they will be down to just a staff of 5.

      Don’t support it.

This is news! Loved the “A flash mob simulating a diner crowd”. Definitely will be giving this place a try with all of our talk about it. I fear there will be a line around the block when it opens from all the curious people. Wonder if humans or Zombies will be serving us.

Ooooo– I hope it’s zombies. Wonder what they’ll want for a tip?

I walked by last night on my way to the car from dinner and saw three people. They all appeared to be employees, and one of them was smoking. Right there for all to see. Guess he’s not aware of the Decatur ordinances. Nor did it seem as if he would have cared, had be known. Sigh.
