    Pups Need Good Home

    Decatur Metro | December 20, 2010 | 2:30 pm

    MAK resident Agape writes in…

A close friend of mine found two pure bred Boxers wandering in her neighborhood south of the airport and was unable to locate their owners. These babes are beautiful, sweet, good with kids, other dogs and cats. They were both recently heartworm tested and are negative, thus they have both been spayed and neutered.

I must have help in finding them new homes. My husband won’t allow us to take in any more permanent pets as we already have one Boxer, three cats and two children. Is there any way you could post a notice that these two beauties are in need of loving homes? I’d love for them to find a home together as they were found wandering together and seem attached to one another. However, if separated I think they would do well with another dog for a companion. They are currently located at Edgewood Animal Clinic on Edgewood.

Here’s a Google Place Page for the Edgewood Animal Clinic in case you need directions!

You might try a boxer rescue. They look to be purebreed so I am guessing it would be easy for them to place.

They’re beautiful dogs. Stopping Pet Overpopulation Together (SPOT) has a comprehensive list of general and breed-specific rescue groups in the Atlanta area. Visit http://www.SpotSociety.org.

One of the organizations on SPOT’s list is Atlanta Boxer Rescue (678-428-7343 / http://www.atlantaboxerrescue.org).

Update: the boxer on the right has now been adopted (I’m the mean husband in the initial post…), so even more important to find a good home for the girl on the left as she’s going to be pretty darned lonely now.

Thank you so very much!!!!! You are the absolute best. The flashy fawn boy has found a home with a family with a little boy and is happy as a clam….his friend (the brindle girl) still is looking for a loving forever home. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. To help in being a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves is truly one of the greatest callings in life. Happy holidays to you all!

        Happy holidays!

You may want to see if Atlanta Pet Rescue http://www.atlantapetrescue.org/www_ver2/ can help the adoption. They have placed a lot of boxers and it is fantastic organization.

My female dog passed away recently and I have been looking for a new dog. Is this girl still available? I would like to meet her but an going out of town Thursday and won’t be back until Monday. My male golden would be overjoyed to have another dog in the family.

I adopted Mattie, the brindle boxer female. She and my golden Riley are already great buddies. She is an absolutely wonderful dog. Thanks to you, Decatur Metro, for posting this. She is now blistfully sleeping on the floor beside my chair. No more cold streets for Mattie.

It’s a little sad they couldn’t be adopted together but it sounds like both found wonderful homes. A big hurrah to JEM for taking in the beautiful girl! I hope we (me and my rescue mutts) will see you at the dog park!
