Houqua Tea Room Opening Below Saba in Emory Village
Decatur Metro | December 1, 2010What Now Atlanta? reports that a new spot called “Houqua Tea Room” is opening in Saba’s basement in Emory Village. As for details, here’s all the What Now folks could find out…
Staff at Saba say the restaurant will offer “fine teas from around the world,” in a coffeehouse type setting with wireless. The owner is difficult to reach and there is virtually no information available online.
Below the Saba joint? Interesting concept…a tea room. I’ve got visions of Crabtree & Evelyn products for some reason.
Geishas are what’s coming to my mind but I probably have my stereotypes all mixed up.
I attended EU in the late 60’s. There was a way cool “head shop” in that space, you know candles, incense, posters, etc. I met my first hippie there.
I was about to add in my first comment that I’d hope a tea room of any kind might as well sell candles and incense. That thought was hijacked by the soaps and fragrances of C&E.
That space was Cathy’s Hairworks for about a decade in the 1980’s. Got many a perm there…
