Um, I don’t get it. I like the “Eye on the street” photos of Decatur (heck, even around Atlanta), but there’s plenty of other places online to post vacation photos.
I have to agree with Aaron. I am not personally not a huge fan of this segment, so unless it’s local or part of DM’s high speed fantasy, I’d rather have weird local pictures than someone’s family vacation (unless it includes sexy high speed rail or Westchester elementary).
Oooooh. A family vacation at Westchester Elementary during the unusual September break! Why didn’t we think of this? We could all camp out on the lawn. In fact, we could drive RVs right up on the lawn where parking has been allowed. Will the underground sprinklers feel lumpy? Better bring sleeping pads.
As Karass pointed out, the new school calendar does have a huge advantage as the parks are “empty” and the hotels are cheap this time of year. Just returned from The Magic Kingdom with the family and ran into quite a few Decatur families there. It was really weird seeing so many familar faces, so far from home.
Disney sure has changed since I went there in the 70’s.
Deanne, “It’s a Small World” was closed for renovation, much to my wife’s dissappointment BUT I was extremely grateful. It takes forever to get that song out of my head…..
We also joined the many families from Decatur to head down to Orlando. Checked out Magic Kingdom (we also were sorry to see It’s A Small World closed for renovation) for a day and Harry Potter World for a day – great fun, and the crowds were quite manageable.

Maybe those are all Decatur families taking advantage of the September break when most other families are in school so the Disney crowds are low

“It’s a Small World” is now playing in my brain!
*Eric- Enjoy your vacation! :0)
I am a scrooge, Eric. I hope you enjoyed yourself and managed to come home without having to take out a second mortgage to buy princess crap.
Wow, tough crowd, Eric. I like your EOTS submission. I also like the Magic Kingdom. It makes me feel thin.
What are you implying or what am I inferring?
HA!! You don’t have to go all the way to Orlando to get that feeling, though…Six Flags is much closer.

I hope your wife didn’t catch you doing the woo hoo dance! :0)
