Six-Word Stories on the Decatur, GA Fan

    Decatur Metro | August 25, 2010

Did your six-word story make it onto the city’s “I’m a Decatur, Georgia, Fan” fan?

Click the pic to enlarge it.  Also, if you forgot what was your own creation, here’s a link to the post with everyone’s original suggestions.

Don’t worry, the t-shirt is coming.

      Decatur[1], where[2] your[3] neighbors[4] are[5] your[6] friends[7]

and they can’t count to six

actually, the word “Decatur” wasn’t supposed to be included in that one — there’s another seven word story on the fan too. I proofed it upside down and backwards, increased five word stories to make them six, cut down seven word stories to make them six and as luck would have it apparently failed to catch the fact that two perfectly correct six word stories somehow got turned into seven word stories. I even forgot to include one of my favorites — A place where spontaneous Zen happens. What can I say . . .

Eh, yeah…mine’s the other “sevener”– but my first reaction was “Hey! I made it!” :-D

Awwww…my favorite is not on there: “Where EVERYONE is an Education expert!”

Save the flames, this was meant humorously! :)

LOVE this! I’ve added it to my fan! :0)

So, Where do we get a fan?

Seriously!! My contribution is on there – I want to send a fan to all my suburban relatives. ;-)

Not to worry, we have plenty. We’ll have them at city hall during the Book Festival and plan to give them away at Concerts on the Square and Blue Sky Concert programs.

Nothing about our churches? So Sad.

Write one! Send it in! The bottom of the fan says “Want to try your hand at writing your own six-word Decatur story? Send it to .” Maybe it will make it onto the t-shirt!

Woo-hoo – one of my suggestions made it in. This is the first time I’ve ever been ‘published’. Definitely going to have to add this to the resume.

You’re serious about the T-shirt, right??? Please offer them in kid sizes too!

Yes. There are actually a couple in the works at the moment. One we can hopefully get out my the Book Festival. We’ll make sure to do some kid’s sizes. Onesies too hopefully!

I love the idea of a shirt, BUT won’t it have to read “I’m a Decatur, GA, Shirt”? Kind of loses something in translation from a fan to a shirt…

Sorry if I was a bit obtuse about the t-shirts. They aren’t “I’m a Decatur, GA Fan” shirts. They are shirts sporting one of the phrases on the fan, which was originally concocted by a poster on DM.

I think they’re going to be pretty rad.
