    Coyotes About in Decatur

    Decatur Metro | February 17, 2010

    Allison writes in…

Just a bit of news from the ecotone: I just watched a pair of coyotes trot down the street past my house.

Decatur folks should watch out for their small critters. They are back.

Thank goodness they are on that street and not on the train tracks.
I’d hate to see them get hit by a train.
I always thought they were playing with danger on the tracks.

My husband saw them early one morning last week crossing the street down near the Oakhurst Community Garden.

it sounds like they somewhat follow the creek around town along with all the other prey animals… hawks, owls and such.

Also keep your eyes out for falling Acme-brand anvils.

      Poplar Circle in Winnona Park.

And they were carrying Acme suitcases full of explosives, the Wile E. beasts.

Last night (Feb22, 8pm), I pulled into the Dekalb Farmers Market just in time to hear several (a pack?), of what I could only determine to be, coyotes making quite some noise in the woods beyond the parking lot. It was enough that it stirred up some dogs that were in the cars. Just wanted to add that.
