Donate Items to Clifton Men’s Shelter at Paris Decatur
Decatur Metro | December 15, 2009Susan writes in with word that Paris Decatur is now accepting clothing, toiletries and food donations for the Clifton Men’s Shelter. (The shelter’s manager is a regular at Paris)
Items can be dropped off between 6pm and midnight at Paris or you can call 404.932.0737 and Paris will come and pick your items up.
Is this just today?
Nathan, the info didn”t give an end-date, but the way it’s written I’d say it’s probably good through the end of the year or at least the 25th. Perhaps Susan could clarify.
BTW, shelters always need men’s items. They get tons of women’s stuff, but are always short on mens!
That’s because my husband, I mean your average American male, doesn’t buy clothes. He wears them until they are so holey or stretched out or out of date that I, I mean his theoretical wife, throws them out. Even if he has gained a major amount of weight since his bachelor days, he still wears them. Maybe I, I mean a theoretical wife, could use the argument that shelters need men’s clothes before they become ragged as a rational for rotating the wardrobe a little quicker.
Exactly!
You can also cruise the sale racks at Target or Wal Mart! Sometimes you can pick up some nice stuff for a couple of bucks (and then write it off as I assume the shelter is a 501 c3)
As an average American male and husband, I just have to respond to your opinion about our clothing habits.
You are absolutely right! I hate buying clothes, which means I wear mine until people on the street begin looking askance. And I’m still reeling from my wife’s decision to get rid of all my 80’s concert shirts. You know the ones…white shirt with a picture of the band on the front and the dates/venues on the back, with black 3/4-sleeves. I mean, how else am I going to remember Deep Purple’s 1984 reunion tour?
Actually, Eric, I can’t believe you didn’t divorce her over that one. That’s AWFUL. I would honestly never through out concert shirts. In fact, I’ll go through your trash them.
