Piece of Cake Bakery Coming to Decatur
Decatur Metro | June 25, 2009With his general nonchalance and third-person speak, Winnona Park Stud mentioned in a previous post…
Winona Park Stud noticed that the “For Lease” sign is gone from the old Victory Vintage space on the corner of College and S. Candler. Piece of Cake Bakery is opening next door, but doesn’t appear to have anything to do with the old VIctory space – anyone know what’s up?
A check of their website confirms that Piece of Cake is opening in Decatur early next month.
The bakery currently has two other metro locations: Buckhead and Roswell. Piece of Cake is probably the best-known Atlanta cakery. Getting them into the Trackside strip is a big get for the city.
YES!!!!! Can’t wait!!
Piece of Cake should be opening in the next couple of weeks in the spot between Wiggle and Bistro Box. A clothing boutique is coming to the space where Victory Vintage used to be. On another note – demo on Trackside and 5th Earl should begin tonight. They will be working after hours to minimize traffic disruption.
Oh my gosh!!!! Their strawberry cakes are my absolute favorite! If only they would make them all year long instead of just the summer…. It could be really dangerous having them walking distance from my house!
Does Trackside still plan on coming back? What about 5th Earl?
Can’t wait for Piece of Cake – their cakes are amazing!!
One can never have too many fresh baked goods within walking distance…especially cupcakes!
I agree. But I love Sweet n’ Sinful in Avondale. It’s honestly the best cake around.
For cupcakes, Button Cupcakes sold at Cafe Cliche next to Little Azio on West Ponce are my favorite. But I welcome a dedicated bakery. I just wish we could get one that also did fresh breads, rolls, croissants too. You can get croissants at Pastries a Go Go, baguettes at Sawicki’s, but there’s nowhere to get all your fresh baked goods. I find a few fresh baked goods at the Farmer’s Market to be great but in general their breads and pastries are too heavy.
I know people who swear by Southern Sweets for baked goods.
Yes, Southern Sweets is a hidden gem. Fantastic!
Any update on when POC will open? I am patiently waiting to order a strawberry layer cake…
