Clairemont Restaurant Openings
Decatur Metro | June 3, 2009Rus writes in with details and a little review for two (relatively) new spots along Clairemont Road.
1) “Andryannis” is a fantastic Greek restaurant that is having it’s Grand Opening. It’s in a difficult spot located on the rear corner of the Cornerstone Bank @ 125 Clairemont Ave #160 …but it’s worth finding, best Greek food I’ve had in a long time. M-F 7am-4pm (opening for Sunday brunch soon) www.andryannis.com
2) “Debbie’s” replaces Julie’s on Clairemont. Jamacian/American (what I think of as Jamacian Soul Food). Excellent veggie plates (yummy collard greens) and Jamacian standards. Very friendly people, inexpensive and open until 5:30.
Nittany mentioned Debbie’s a couple months ago, but it never got it’s own post.
Absolutely agree with Rus about Andryannis. Good food and friendly people.
The owners have taken over the spot after a string of less-than-successful sandwich shops and have added some charm to the space and upped the ante on the food selection tremendously. Here’s hoping they do well…
Excited to hear about these places – but how are those of us who don’t work in Decatur going to ever get to try them? Hope they decide to stay open later!
Nightowl: you can try them when you’re downtown for jury duty!
Nightowl – hopefully those of us that don’t have day jobs (got laid off before you did) will support these businesses and they will be able to expand their hours to accommodate your 9-5 work hours of corporate drudgery. Otherwise you should take a day off to get some serious Decatur lunch …
