Spring Electronics Recycling Day POSTPONED
Decatur Metro | March 27, 2009UPDATE: Rain will postpone electronics recycling day until April 25th. See Cheryl’s comment.
The Decatur Minute has all the details for tomorrow’s Spring Electronics Recycling Day in the DHS parking lot from 9a-1p.
In addition to electronics, you can also recycle batteries, styrofoam, mercury thermometers and thermostats. As Cheryl says over at The Minute “, “Just about anything with a cord can be recycled, with the exception of microwave ovens.” Oh, and there’s a $10 fee to recycle a TV.
So get to work procrastinators! Gather up all those huge chunks of Pottery Barn styrofoam you’ve been hording, and clear off those old PC hard drives! Its go time!
Cheryl, is there any sort of contingency plan due to the Biblical flood?
Nick- the electronics recycling day scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled due to the threat of thunderstorms, rain and otherwise “yucky” weather. We want to keep our workers, volunteers and recyclers safe. It has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 25 from 9am until 1pm. We will post info on the Decatur Minute in a few “minutes”!
Any news on when the ark building will begin?
I am working on getting an ark building committee together. I have collected two cats……unfortunately they are both male.
Understandable. I was wondering how y’all were going to pull this off, even as I had piles of Styrofoam and electronics (finally broke down the old desktop) ready to go. But it can wait a month.
Besides, it gives me one more chance to peruse the hard drive to make sure I got everything of value off….before taking a power drill to it.
Oh sadness, I was sooooo looking forward to getting that pile of old electronics out of my house. However, on the brighter side, now nothing will interfere with rainy day movie watching on my couch.
