UPDATE: Four Decatur Residents Named Guggenheim Fellows

    Decatur Metro | April 16, 2012

UPDATE: Moira writes in and notes her husband, Stavros Garoufalidis (mathematics, GA Tech), was also named a Guggenheim Fellow.  That makes four Decatur residents, who received the honor this year!

    Tonio writes in…

The 2012 Guggenheim Fellows were announced today in the NYT, and Decatur made a strong show. There are three fellows from Decatur, which seems remarkable to me, and perhaps it’s worth a note in the blog. They are…

    Tonio Andrade (Emory)

    Douglas Flamming (Georgia Tech)

    Judith Evans Grubbs (Emory)

Tonio also sent along the ad in the New York Times announcing the winners, which you can view HERE.  All three recipients are history professors at their respective universities.
