Decatur Police Alert: Burglary on Second Avenue Saturday
Decatur Metro | February 9, 2014From Decatur PD Sgt. Jennifer Ross…
Decatur Police are investigating a burglary that occurred Saturday, 2-8-14 between 2:00 – 4:45 pm in the 600 block of Second Avenue. It appeared the suspects used a vehicle to force a locked rear gate open and the rear door to the residence was then forced open. Numerous items were stolen throughout the house. A neighbor reported seeing a beige SUV, believed to be a Ford Explorer, occupied by two black males leaving the alley behind the victim’s residence at approximately 2:30 pm. The driver of the beige SUV was described as having a light complexion and wearing a red baseball cap.
There were additional incidents reported nearby in Atlanta that may be related. APD officers in zone 6 responded to a burglary on Tupelo Street that occurred between 1:00 – 2:30 pm. Based on the size of a television stolen, it is likely a SUV or truck was used. APD then responded to a suspicious vehicle backed into a driveway in the 100 block of Second Avenue shortly after 3:00 pm. The vehicle was described as a white SUV, possibly a Suburban or Tahoe, occupied by 3-4 black males.
Please watch out for your neighbors and call police immediately if you see unknown persons or vehicles on your neighbor’s property.
