By the time we got to the window, a silver SUV was taking off. It’s the third such incident (along with one break-in) in our subdivision in three weeks.
Get a fiberglass door with a three point lock, and pick up the burglar bar braces for your doorknobs at Lowe’s or Home Depot at about fifteen bucks each. 3M film for your windows may be pricey, but pretty much worth it if you like urban living and want to feel appreciable more secure. Dropcams are fairly cheap and easy to set up. Leave a radio or television on when you leave. It’s also good to leave a bathroom light on, since late at night it’s the only light that would be likely to be on in an occupied house.
I really wish I could make the commitment for a rescue dog with a good healthy bark.
