Modern Acoustic Designs in Today’s Work Environments
In the modern workspace, where the design ranges from pods to ceiling baffles of various forms, acoustic solutions have become indispensable. Although these products are generally effective, they tend to not always seamlessly integrate into the decor, appearing more traditional and business-like rather than modern and stylish.
When BIT CREATIVE, an architectural firm, was tasked with designing a new office in Poland for the renowned Danish audio tech company GN Group, they turned to the company’s primary products, including hearing aids and gaming devices, for design inspiration. “The products themselves sparked the idea for the whole office layout,” explains Barnaba Grzelecki, the founder of BIT CREATIVE.
The new headquarters, spanning over 21,527 square feet, is situated in the Saski Crescent complex in Warsaw. It plays a pivotal role in supporting the company’s global operations, especially housing its largest IT department. The design of the office, with its open ceilings and views of tree canopies through some windows, enhances the sense of space.

The office layout features various zones that facilitate easy transition from focused individual work to collaborative group activities. A welcoming area for visitors includes a shelf brimming with plants, reminiscent of a cozy living room. At the core of the office is a social space featuring a casual dining area and a bar, where sunlight streams through glass blocks, complementing the tiled backsplash. There is also a room specifically designed for deep relaxation, decorated with cosmic motifs and equipped with a recliner.
Embracing a Scandinavian aesthetic, the choice of materials includes natural oak wood, paired with red brick, concrete, and touches of greenery. These elements were previously appreciated in GN Group’s earlier office within a co-working space and have been incorporated into the new office environment. An LED strip suspended from the ceiling mimics the form of sound waves, and wall graphics illustrate their intensity.
The office’s color scheme features various shades of gray, balanced with tones of sage, navy, and subtle hints of purple. A vibrant touch is added by the brand’s signature orange, particularly in a music-themed room that showcases percussion instruments, including a striking display of cymbals.
Soundproofing is a key focus, with multifunctional elements that suit the open office layout. Overhead, circular fixtures resembling origami flowers add a decorative touch while enhancing acoustics. Noise-reducing PET panels are incorporated into room dividers, enhancing privacy, and bitumen-backed carpet tiles provide durable, textured flooring.
The office not only serves as a functional workspace but also doubles as a showroom-like setting that emphasizes sonic elements. “The entire design concept orbits around the theme of sound, both in function and form,” Grzelecki points out.
