Fleetwood Mac Exes Reunite: Did They Announce a New Project Together?

By Tyler Jenkins

L’ancien couple de Fleetwood Mac a-t-il annoncé un nouveau projet ensemble ?

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham are teaming up once again for a new album project, though this doesn’t signal a Fleetwood Mac reunion.

It seems that breakups are not always final for the iconic former Fleetwood Mac couple, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. They have dropped several hints suggesting they are collaborating on a project. It appears to be the long-awaited reissue of their album which is now celebrating its 50th anniversary, Buckingham Nicks.

A hint first surfaced on their respective Instagram accounts when both rock stars completed lyrics from Frozen Love, a track from the 1973 album. On a plain white background, the lyric “And if you go forward…” from the Edge of Seventeen singer was followed by “I’ll meet you there” posted by her former partner.

This song holds a special place in the rock group’s history, as it was after hearing it that Mick Fleetwood invited the then-couple to join Fleetwood Mac. After fifty years, this reissue of the album is set to be available on September 19, according to a billboard on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. The album, previously a collectors’ gem, features tracks like early versions of Rhiannon and Crystal, which will now be accessible to everyone in physical format.

A Fleetwood Mac Reunion?

While some members of the band occasionally come together for such projects, a full reunion of Fleetwood Mac seems unlikely. Stevie Nicks has stated she cannot envision continuing the band without her friend and bandmate Christine McVie, who passed away in 2022. Thus, fans will have to let go of that dream. This news is disappointing, but it doesn’t diminish the legendary legacy of the band: Mick Fleetwood celebrated the 50th anniversary of their self-titled album, released on July 11, 1975, on Instagram, describing it as “Magical then, magical now.”
