I will be really awesome when the rail cars are running. This is a reminder of what the Beltline can be.

I wouldn’t count on rail in the next 20 years. That train left the station on 7/31.

Such a disappointment. Atlanta had such potemtial to be a livable city.

Atlanta IS a livable city. All you have to do is make a wise choice regarding where to live.

Not exactly true… The BeltLine has a significant amount of revenue dedicated towards transit from the Tax Allocation District. TSPLOST would have allowed Atlanta do almost entirely self-finance BeltLine transit, but the TAD puts up a compelling match for federal transit dollars (whether & how those will be made available is another story entirely).

Bottom line, don’t count out BeltLine transit yet.

Call me nostalgic but part of me will actually miss the adventure of navigating through kudzu singletrack and dodging homeless folks along that stretch. I like what they have done, though.

So true. When I lived in Midtown we called that stretch of track the “Homeless Highway”. Those trendsetting vagrants! Always ahead of the game.
