Bank of America Apartment Project Taken Off Planning Commission Agenda
Decatur Metro | August 13, 2012We’ve received word that the much discussed Bank of America apartment project along Commerce between Church Street and Clairemont Ave has been taken off the agenda for tomorrow night.
According to sources, the delay is due to ongoing negotiations between the developer and the bank on where to locate a temporary operating center, so expect to see it back on the agenda soon.

Hmmmm. There is an unused bank building on Commerce just around the curve from BOA.
Yeah. And the building is owned by a competing bank. Highly unlikely, despite making perfect sense.
Do you mean next Tuesday night? The City’s website doesn’t show a meeting for tomorrow night.
At last week’s Commission Mtg, Bill Floyd said the Zoning Board was meeting Monday 8/13 and the Planning Commission was meeting on Tuesday–he didn’t give date for it, but it sounded like the next day.
Planning Commission has a standing meeting on the second Tuesday of every month.
Just in case you needed another reason NOT to bank at Bank of America – holding up or possibly killing a development that could really be beneficial to our town is yet another reason.
Whether you like them or not, they have a legitimate right to conduct business in a suitable facility and it is within their rights to negotiate same. One could just as easily take the other side of the argument and blame the developer.
