[The Decatur High School Varsity boys lacrosse team is] playing in the first round of the state playoffs this Wednesday May 9 at 7:30 at the DHS stadium. We will be playing Starrs Mill High School. Booster club passes are not valid for playoffs. Admission is $7/person.
The DHS lacrosse team is 11 – 5 for regular season play. We are the #1 seed for Area 4 in GHSA Class A-AAAA. If you are interested in the brackets go to www.ghsa.net and click on athletics and then select lacrosse. This is the first time the DHS boys lacrosse team has won the Area which was sealed when they beat St. Pius for the first time 3-2. Crowd support is going to be a key factor in our boys playing their best so please come out and cheer on our lax dawgs!

The Decatur varsity girls lacrosse team has their first round game at 5:30 this evening at McIntosh High School.
Go Lady Lax Dogs!
Did the girls team win?
McIntosh, currently ranked #1 in the GA AAAA-A conference, beat us 22 – 5.
Yep, $7 a person. Am I the only one that thinks that’s outrageous? I’d love to support them, but c’mon. I brought my family to the girls’ game last month and was gobstopped that it was $16. I didn’t have cash on me and it was easy to turn around and go watch baseball at medlock instead.
The $7 admission price is set by the Georgia High School Athletic Association not Decatur High School. All schools are required to charge this fee. Also, it is my understanding that children 6 and under are not charged.
If the rain stops, we’ll be there…
Now if only the Hoos can parlay a 5 seed into Mem. Day weekend!
After being down 4-2 at halftime, the boys came out with a vengeance in the second half, rattled off five goals in a row, and won going away 9-6. We await the winner of the Chattahoochee/Riverwood game. This state quarterfinal match-up will take place at 7.30pm Saturday night. Go Bulldogs.
Saturday’s game time has been changed to 4pm.
Great game. Congrats, boys.
Next round today at 4 pm at DHS.
