Is there no longer a small grant program associated with this event? (The “Grant Info” page at the website simply says “2010 grant info coming soon!”
Entry fee? I don’t remember an entry fee, only a beer fee.
Entry fees are a life lesson!
There has always been a nominal fee for admission. If you don’t even remember paying it, then it was indeed time they raised it!
Beer sales are where the profit lies, though, so drink up! Remember, all proceeds of this event go to support good works in our community.
No outside coolers? Forget it, me and the Boondoggle Troll will go elsewhere for our blues, bluegrass and bbq.
They’ve never allowed outside coolers, at least since the thing’s been in Oakhurst.
That would explain why me and Troll have never been.
Will gladly pay for the beer, but I $15 to enter? Not this year. I’ll sit one block away in a lawn chair with a cooler.
But really, has there always been an entry fee?
There’s always been an entry fee because it’s always been a fundraiser for somebody. Plus, the musicians don’t work for free and the stage, sound, etc., costs money.
We got tickets online for $10 but they add a $2 fee, so $12. Anything over $10 is a bit much. I promise to buy lots of beer!
Looking forward to a great day/night of music, bbq, and cold beer – you could volunteer next year and get in for free.. no complaining about entry fee folks, as stated before these events cost money – stages, musicians, off duty police officers to close roads, event insurance, waste disposal etc…, plus the $$ goes to worthy community efforts…
For those asking about an entry fee, I’m 99% sure there was no entry fee when it was held on Howard, which stopped about 4 years ago or so. I doubt many people would’ve been willing to pay an entry fee to sit on 120 degree pavement.
Sorry, but I know there was an entry fee when it was on Howard from the 2nd year on. I know – I was there.
