    McKoy Pool Closed Today

    Decatur Metro | June 1, 2011 | 1:54 pm

Decatur Active Living’s Cheryl Burnette sends along this note…

McKoy Pool is closed for today due to plumbing issues. We are working on the problem and hope to open later today. Stay tuned for updates.

In the meantime, please enjoy swimming at Ebster Pool or Glenlake Pool. Stay cool and enjoy the day!

    We apologize for any inconvenience.

It was gross yesterday. You could use the facilities but could not flush.

….hmmm, if I had a choice of a new city pool or a school at Westchester, which I would I choose? Walkable neighborhood school? Or walkable neighborhood pool? Could we use the building for snack bar, locker rooms, whirlpools, saunas, basketball court, and yoga classes? Any chance for an all-year indoor pool? This is a toughie.

It really is due to pipes/plumbing, nothing ‘nasty” in the pool :)

Good news- the plumbing problem has been repaired and the pool is open and ready for swimmers!

We were at this pool on Tuesday. It was ‘nasty’ and my son woke up with the worst case of diarrhea ever! People walk in the wet dressing room floors then into the pool? Needless to say no more for us. Target has great pools on sale and they even work with a saltwater system.

Sounds like you might ought to stay home all the time – there’s germs EVERYWHERE
