    “Angel” Pup Reunited with Owner

    Decatur Metro | January 28, 2011 | 11:14 am

Following up on THIS post, Trish gives us the full story on how this pup found wondering down Derrydown Way on Monday was reunited with her owner, who lives way out on Ponce near I-285.

Angel has been reunited with her real owner. Apparently, it was a case of mistaken identity with the first owner who has a very similar looking dog. That owner had not seen the dog in more than a week (and she would let the dog run loose around S. Columbia), and told a neighbor (who had previously returned the dog to her) that she hadn’t seen her dog in a week, and if she was at a shelter, then that was fine.

I had posted signs in Winnona Park and apparently, another person saw the dog, thought she recognized it as the dog an acquaintance at 285 and Ponce owned, and called her. The woman sent pictures to the shelter and the shelter folks confirmed that she is the rightful owner. Apparently, her chihuahua, who also got loose, is still missing.

Whew! What a tangle! But I am glad to report that Angel’s real owner has been found and educated and that Angel is now microchipped and spayed. Thank you and to the good folks in Decatur who have been so concerned about this girl.

I was wondering if she had wandered back home.

Oh, YAY for “Angel”!! But so sad for her look-alike, who’s apparently not only still lost, but has an owner who doesn’t care if she remains so. I hope “Angel’s” little chihuahua sister is found soon.

She has a chihuahua face and form. She is mostly black with a dark tan mask (kind of shepherd like in coloring), but she clearly has chihuahua features and size. Half mast ears. I can post a picture if anyone is interested.
