This could be an Eye on the Street, but it needs explanation. Catherine – who provided the photo – also gives some background…
It’s an old school mini cooper on top of a new 4-door mini. My best guess is that it’s some type of marketing ploy from a dealership, but I think it’s hilarious.
I saw it driving east on Ponce around 8 am this morning, I wondered if the top Mini was the real deal
What am i missing. I see a Chick-fil-a and some cars but where is the Mini on the Mini?
Check out the Mini riding high in the background – it’s between the tree and the SUV in the foreground.
Looks like the old mini is trying to perform a General Lee impression through the Chick-fil-a drive-through.
Where’s Waldo?
Saw that parked on the street outside Starbuck’s this morning. There were people in Mini apparel walking around too. I think the sign on the door of the Mini said “Holds all you need for a complete vacation” or something similar.
LOL-when I read the title I began looking for stacks of chick-n-mini’s.

It is a marketing thing from Global Imports Mini. If you spot it and post the picture on their Facebook page, you can win money and a weekend getaway in a Mini Countryman. Of course, I saw it yesterday at the Mini dealer while my car was being worked on and didn’t know about the promotion…so didn’t snap a picture. Darnit.
I personally think it’s a pretty lame promo. A 3 day test drive as a prize? Big Deal! I LOVE my Mini but have not been very impressed by Global Imports.
Well, the promo worked on me. Sort of. I’m now hungry for Chick Fil A.

I have no idea if it is effective advertising or not but I do appreciate that they are having a little fun. Mini as a brand doesn’t seem to take itself too seriously. Better than another “look how fast and cool our car is” tv ad.
