No kidding. When I saw the fencing go up a couple of days ago, making the sidewalk even narrower, my first thought was “Oh, great, now this will be here for another couple of years”. I’ve been miffed for a while that half that sidewalk has been blocked off, making an unpleasant walk even worse.
It was a lot of fun watching it finally come down. There were about 30 of the Trackside regulars hooting and hollering as the bricks fell! Big thanks to Farmsted 303 for setting up tables and sending the servers out to get us drinks! I honestly didn’t think it would ever happen.
Sad to see. So many memories in the old building.
It’s not sad to me, it is joyous after seeing it burnt out and borded up for nearly 2 years!

Curious why they did it at night. Traffic concerns maybe? Or did it just take so long that work extended into the evening?
DOT required the night demo. 278/College Ave is a state highway and that strip is, by current standards, too close.
