Snow Cancellations
Decatur Metro | February 13, 2010Use this post to report area event cancellations due to snow. Here’s what I’ve found thus far…
- Dan Magee has already reported in comments here that today’s 11am Valentine’s Luncheon for 1st to 3rd graders at the Rec Center has been canceled, while the 6:30p Valentine’s Day dance for 4th and 5th graders is still on as scheduled.
- According to a note on the Oakhurst Message Board, construction of a new greenhouse has been pushed back to tomorrow.
- Also of note, the AJC reports that MARTA buses are not running today.
Anyone know what happened to the “Recycle Your Life” event at the Baptist Church? A reader asked about it in an email last night, but I don’t have contact info.
UPDATE: Karass reports in a comment that the “Recycle Your Life” event has been canceled and may be rescheduled in June.
I got an email from someone who had an email from the coordinator that it is cancelled. It may happen again in June. Since I don’t have permission to post the original email, I won’t.
Too bad!
That was also posted on the Winnona Park message board.
The Recycling event at First Baptist had to cancel because many of the vendors who were going to pick the stuff up called fairly late last night to say they couldn’t make it. We apologize.

Has anyone heard if there is a change of plans for the Rail Arts District Studio Cruise?
The Chinese New Year’s festival at the Chinese Cultural Festival is still on. A little snow can’t keep me from getting my dumplings!
The Varsity says on their Facebook page that they’re closed today because they could get enough staff.
Gary reported that, as of 9:30, Thumbs Up was still not open.
Yogurt tap is closed today.
