Chriskwanukkah Party at the Solarium – December 17th
Decatur Metro | November 27, 2009Nancy sends along this press release about the 4th annual Chriskwanukkah Party at the Solarium in Oakhurst on December 17th…
Time to get your holiday groove on for a party with a purpose on December 17th. It’s the 4th Annual Chriskwanukkah Party, and a CD release event for “We Three Kings,” a jazzy, funky, and soulful collection of instrumental Christmas songs. The band is a virtuosic trio of music veterans: Charles Hedgepath, (guitarist,) Yonrico Scott (drums) and Ike Stubblefield (organ). Jazz guitarist extraordinaire, Grant Green, Jr., and other special guests will join them for an evening of holiday cheer and boogie. The event will be held in Decatur at the Solarium in Oakhurst and proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
The CD project was spearheaded by Charles Hedgepath, from Greenville, SC, who then enlisted Yonrico and Ike in the concept. Yonrico and Ike are both Atlanta residents, but Detroit area natives who have played with many Motown legends through the years. Yonrico currently is the long time drummer for the Derek Trucks Band.
Chriskwanukkah is open to the public and begins at 7:30pm on Thursday December 17th. Donation is $20 and includes beer, wine, waters and light munchies. Enjoy the spirit of the season and spread the cheer to those less fortunate as well.
