Neil Dobbs Doesn’t Register For City Commission Run

    Decatur Metro | September 4, 2009

I asked the city to send me a list of city commission and school board candidates once the qualifying period closed this afternoon.  Here’s the list of residents that applied for city commission candidacy.   Dobbs is noticeably absent.

Since no one is used to having a post “stuck” to the top of the page, I’m alerting everyone that there’s a new post down here.

Can someone explain who Neil Dobbs is and why it is noticeable that he’s not running?

      Thanks.

Neil Dobbs is a recent president of the DBA, who has been an all-but-declared challenger to Boykin or discussed as such for weeks. See here:

Good news for Boykin? Hard to say, since it’s typically easier to defeat two challengers than one. Definitely good news for Radford, who has already started to attract some more attention in the last couple of weeks.

Yeah sorry about that Snowflake, that post could have used a bit more context, but I was in a bit of a rush. Thanks Judd for filling in some of the holes and providing the link. At a minimum I should have done that!

I am looking forward to this race. I hope anyone interested will check out my website, where I’ve added some more information about myself, as well as links to facebook and twitter, where you can also keep up with the campaign.
