Cool, thanks for passing this along. On a related note, if anyone at Tastings reads this blog, please accept this as an open request to rationalize your prices. I love the concept, but the prices are simply outrageous. Generally, you’re charging more for a HALF glass of wine than most Decatur restaurants are asking for a full glass. I’ve been to Tasings several times now, but will not go back until the prices get under control.
And to Zucca for the $9 Bernardus….please!
I went last time and not a single establishment was offering what they said they were offering as far as free drinks/appetizers. Lame.
Heliotrope is the happening place on Fab Fridays!
Thanks Decatur Shopper. We at Whit’s End have always offered what we said we would. When it is slow down here, we have closed but we have never posted a time on the advertisements until recently. Speaking of that, I may have to close at 630p tonight, in order to make it down to my son’s lacrosse game in Peachtree City if the rain stops and it isn’t cancelled. Chiatt, I don’t think you came down here last time.
We do read this blog and are always interested in the comments of our customers. At the beginning of this year we did have a major price and inventory adjustment. We now offer 35 wines at under $10 per glass. Most restaurants around Decatur offer wines by the glass at prices anywhere from $6 – $15. The wines that you find at Tastings that are over $15 per glass are wines that you would not find offered by the glass in a restaurant because they are not going to open an expensive bottle of wine for a taste or just one glass. The whole theory of Tastings is to allow the customer to sample various different types of wines at different price points. We hope that you do come into Tastings again and please ask your server to point out all the wines under $10 per glass.
Chiatt, I don’t think that statement is fair. I was down at Whit’s End last month and got a glass of wine and discounts were offered.
How late in the evening was it? Were they just out? Did they offer an explanation? How many establishments did you go into?
So many questions…
