Extend GA Water Ban thru mid-2008?
Decatur Metro | October 3, 2007One of the proposed Bandaids tossed around at Tuesday’s drought summit in Atlanta (there’s a drought summit?) was to extend the outdoor water ban through the summer 2008. The AJC leads with that headline. Other possible safeguards include reducing water from lakes Lanier and Allatoona, extending restrictions to some commercial businesses, and creating a network of connected water systems throughout different neighborhoods for “backup”.
Maybe the state should start with nixing Stone Mountain’s plan to make snow in the 80 degree heat for their new Coca-Cola Snow Park. It’s nearly as ridiculous as their $8 parking fee.
UPDATE: Stone Mountain has bent to public pressure and turned off its snow machine. Hat’s off to Decatur-DeKalb for predicting the shut off earlier this morning.
Thanks for giving credit for the prediction, but it hardly took a genius, and it happened even faster than expected.
Looks like we’re covering roughly the same beat, but that’s OK. It gives people two different perspectives, and if one of us gets tied up, our readers can check the other blog.
Anybody can find the same news we find, but we give them one place (well, two) to look.
Keep up the good work!
David, thanks again for the kind welcome. I do quite enjoy your site!
It seems we do post similar stuff, but I agree that its good to provide different perspectives. Plus, this blog is obviously in the infant stages and as it finds its voice, I hope to take it into other areas (in addition to news).
I look forward to future correspondence!
