While strolling Blount Plaza (aka MARTA plaza) this evening, the misses and I spotted a cute little vending cart stationed near the stairs. Unlike some predictions that vending carts would be reminiscent of those at Five Points, this was a nice little independent cart called “Gumpy’s”, selling $1 waters and refreshing treats like Popsicles and ice cream.

I didn’t see any takers in the moments I was in the area, but I figure peak sales times for these carts will be in the afternoon, between lunch and dinner, when the sun is hot and people are looking for a snack.

UPDATE: InDecatur has a pic and says that Gumpy’s will be the only cart allow on the plaza this summer.
