La Redoute : l’acrobatique feuille de route qui attend la nouvelle patronne Béatrice Héricourt

Béatrice Héricourt began her tenure as CEO of La Redoute on Tuesday, April 22, facing the challenge of declining figures and a tense social environment.

“A Key Player in E-commerce”

With over 25 years of experience in strategy, purchasing, and transformation in the omnichannel commerce sector, including apparel and home equipment, Béatrice Héricourt brings a wealth of expertise to her new role at La Redoute. Her career includes 11 years at Kiabi, where she led international offerings, and nearly two years managing Electro Dépôt, a Mulliez-owned discount appliance retailer. Héricourt, an alumna of the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce et de Management (ESCEM), is well-prepared for her responsibilities.

“In her role, Béatrice Héricourt is tasked with driving a new growth cycle for the company, both domestically and internationally, and bolstering its position as a major e-commerce player in home goods and apparel,” the group stated. “As a northern woman, I grew up with this iconic brand that is deeply rooted in the daily lives of the French. With nearly 200 years of history, La Redoute has continuously reinvented and transformed itself while remaining true to its DNA, becoming a key player in fashion and home e-commerce today,” Héricourt shared on LinkedIn.

60% of Revenue from Home and Decor

The exact financial figures of this e-commerce entity, established in 1837 by Joseph Pollet, are not publicly disclosed, but it claims to have 9 million active customers worldwide. The company reports stable revenues in 2024 compared to 2023 (816 million euros, according to the specialized media LSA), after having surpassed one billion euros in 2022.

The shifting market dynamics have led the historically apparel-focused retailer to pivot its strategy towards home goods and decor in recent years, which accounted for 60% of its revenue by the end of 2024. The goal for 2025 is to accelerate growth in this sector, “while continuing our international expansion, which makes up 40% of our total revenue by the end of 2024, with a focus on key markets such as Switzerland and Italy,” a spokesperson explained.

Strike Call on April 25

The company assures that its operational management includes “full job preservation.” In the long run, this logistics expert is expected to bring new customers to this site, which is currently only utilized at 50% of its capacity. “The industrial project is very clear: ID Logistics, within six years, should increase from 20 to 30 million articles processed,” the company stated. In the meantime, Béatrice Héricourt must prove herself and ease tensions.
