The 44th edition of the Isère festival is eclectic and filled with headline acts, offering a plethora of delights through July 11.
The Jazz à Vienne festival is synonymous with its grand outdoor concert evenings featuring a diverse array of musical genres, held in the stunning setting of the ancient theater.

This year, the festival’s jazz segment – its historic core – features highlights such as the evening of July 2 dedicated to oriental jazz (with performances by Rabih Abou-Khalil, Dhafer Youssef, Arooj Aftab), the alternative jazz night on July 4 (featuring Meshell Ndegeocello, Kamasi Washington, Donny McCaslin & Ishkero), and the July 8 evening showcasing three prominent female voices in jazz vocals (Dianne Reeves, Madeleine Peyroux, Célia Kameni).
The festival also celebrates other musical styles and regions, as seen in the Caribbean night on July 5 (Kassav’, Ana Carla Maza), the soul evening on July 7 (highlighted by a special concert creation from Ben l’Oncle Soul with the Gospel Philharmonic Experience), the hip-hop night on July 9 (GoldLink, Rejjie Snow), and the grand closing night on July 11 that prominently features African influences (with performances by Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, Nana Benz from Togo, and BCUC).
A Robust Line-up
Each evening, the festivities continue late into the night with free access at the François Ponsard Theater. Transformed into the festival club for the occasion, it resonates with the sounds of the most contemporary jazz from around the world. The 2025 lineup includes the colorful French quintet Monsieur MÂLÂ, the rising British vocal star Nectar Woode, and two exciting Luxembourgish trios, Dock In Absolute and Klein, both featured as part of a focus on Luxembourg’s jazz scene – a tradition of highlighting a particular European country that started in the 2024 edition.
In addition, there are also multiple concerts, DJ sets, and jam sessions available for free in the Cybèle gardens, starting daily at noon. Various workshops and classes for all ages are also on offer. Lastly, the Museum of Vienne’s history hosts a major exhibition focused on the rich relationship between jazz and vinyl records.
Jazz à Vienne, running until July 11.
