One of these bike stand kiosks already exists one block away from the Church St entrance by the rec center. I have used it (easier for me than buying a bike stand!)

And someone had the good sense to turn the doubled arms at the top so that they no longer stick out into the sidewalk. Before they turned them I saw a guy whack his head on them like you read about. I wish he had been walking while texting but he was just looking at his feet.

I nearly wacked my head the first day I saw it!

We also plan to put one in or near Harmony Park once the construction is completed. Love to see bikers using the one in front of our building, so stop on by the Recreation Center. And join us for our Third Friday Bike Rides!

At the new Trinity development, I do not think they should ‘smooth’ out the railroad crossings. {We are hills!} Also, I think at the {old} Dairy Queen intersection there should be a small wooden bridge going from Howard {bike path} over to the Depot that is exclusively for bicycles. That is bicycle friendly! Managing to get it to sweep back down to the North Candler spur would be magnificent. Put a nice sign up saying DECATUR! Turn the part of Howard that goes by Trinity Triangle development {Twain’s} into a gravel lane, keeping the bike path as is. {With accommodations for bicycles going up Church. That piece of Church (Twain’s) & the road to the Old Modern Press (across from the school) could be gravel, too}. At McDonough rail crossing, it would make a nice counterpoint pairing, but I think the logistics would be harder, there. {College to Howard access}.
