CSD Ranks 6th In the State in College and Career Ready Performance Index

    Decatur Metro | December 19, 2014 | 1:39 pm

CSD released this announcement this morning.  You can also peruse the CCRPI data on the State’s website HERE.

CSD Ranks 6th Overall on CCRPI
City Schools of Decatur Ranks 6th Overall on College and Career Ready Performance Index

Two CSD Schools Rank in the Top Ten of All Georgia Schools

December 18, 2014 – The Georgia Department of Education released 2014 scores for the Georgia College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) and City Schools of Decatur ranks 6th in the state. Our K-3 schools all scored 90 or above with two schools, Clairemont (2nd) and Oakhurst (9th), ranking in the top ten of all schools in Georgia.

The CCRPI is the new accountability system that replaces the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) measurement in Georgia and measures schools and school districts on a 100-point scale. The CCRPI will help parents and the public better understand how schools are performing in a more comprehensive manner than the pass/fail system previously in place under AYP.

Google Delaying Fiber Decision for Metro Atlanta

    Decatur Metro | December 19, 2014 | 9:35 am

    From the AJC…

Google is going slower in its push to put super-fast Internet connections around the nation.

The company said Thursday that it has delayed plans to announce this year the next round of cities where it will install residential service connections 100 times faster than the average for U.S. homes.

The city of Atlanta and eight other cities locally are among those Google has been considering.

“While we were hoping to have an update for cities before the holidays, we have a bit more work to wrap up; we’ll be back in touch sometime early next year,” spokesperson Kelly Mason wrote in an email to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
